Lead Early Childhood Educator
Pay: $23.00 - $29.00, per hour
Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. The Lead Early Childhood Educator is responsible for creating and implementing a developmentally appropriate, play-based, Reggio-inspired curriculum that aligns with Kehillah Early Learning Center's philosophy. This individual will foster a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child. The Lead Educator will guide the teaching team and build strong partnerships with families.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement an emergent, child-centered curriculum based on the interests of the children and the principles of the Reggio Emilia approach.

Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that reflects the values of our Jewish-inspired program.

Observe, document, and assess children's development and learning to inform curriculum planning.

Foster positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

Lead and mentor the classroom teaching team, including the Assistant Educator and Floater Educators.

Communicate effectively with parents through regular updates, conferences, and documentation of their child's learning journey.

Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the classroom.

Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide events.

Manage classroom activities effectively to maintain a positive learning environment.

Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions among students.

Foster strong communication with parents regarding their child's progress and development.

Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment that supports child welfare and development.

Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field required (Master's degree preferred).

Lead Teacher permit or will obtain one within 1 year of employment (site supervisor permit preferred).

A minimum of 3 years of experience as a lead teacher in an early childhood setting.

Deep understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.

Experience with play-based, emergent, and/or Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculums.
-
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about Jewish values and traditions.

Current CPR and First Aid certification.â

The Assistant Early Childhood Educator works in collaboration with the Lead Educator to support a high-quality, play-based, Reggio-Inspired learning environment. This individual will assist in the implementation of curriculum, the care and supervision of children, and the building of a positive classroom community.
